Philipp Kiefer is a cardiac surgeon and associate professor for cardiac surgery at the Heart Center Leipzig, University of Leipzig. He graduated from Medical School at the University of Leipzig in 2007 and started his cardiac surgical residency at the Heart Center Leipzig under the mentorship of Prof. Mohr and Prof. Chitwood (USA). After completing his training, he has held a consultant position and, finally, the lead senior consultant position in cardiac surgery at the Heart Center Leipzig. His clinical and research interest is heart valve disease, focusing on minimally invasive valve surgery, including transcatheter techniques.
