Paulina Ramirez Jaramillo

Paulina Ramirez Jaramillo studied medicine at CES University in Medellín, Colombia. As a medical student, she was always interested in cardiac surgery, completing 12 months of practice in this area, most of which were at the Leipzig Heart Center. In Colombia, Paulina specialized in epidemiology,  with a particular focus on cardiac surgery. Her thesis was titled "Medium-Term Effectiveness of Mechanical and Biological Valve Prostheses in Patients Under 60 Years of Age." In 2023, she started her residency in cardiac surgery and critical care at the University Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Leipzig Heart Center, where she is also working on an endocarditis-related project for her doctoral degree.
