CV

Originally from Medellín, Colombia, Manuela de la Cuesta completed her medical degree at CES University, where she cultivated an early passion for research and cardiac surgery. Her clinical training included surgical rotations at Clínica Cardio VID, the leading cardiovascular center in Medellín.

Driven by her interest in valve disease and infective endocarditis, she undertook a research fellowship at the Leipzig Heart Center in Germany, contributing to multiple projects on mitral valve surgery and endocarditis. Following her intern year, she returned to Leipzig to begin her residency in cardiac surgery, continuing her clinical and academic work in a high-volume, research-oriented environment.

With a background in coding and data analysis, she brings a unique technical skill set to clinical research, with a particular emphasis on the surgical management and clinical outcomes of endocarditis. Her work reflects a commitment to integrating technical expertise with clinical insight to improve care for patients.
